Claire Turns One Year!

I first met Claire and her Mommy I think when she was only a couple weeks old.  Her Mom and I worked out together soon after she was born and she started Claire on our "Baby Collection Series" program in July 2009 when she was 3 months old.  At the one year mark I like to re-post a few portraits, one from each previous session so you can see how much they have grown =)  Take a look at this cutie pie over the last year...
3 MONTHS OLD

6 MONTHS OLD

Now little Miss Claire is fully walking/running!  She has the cutiest expressions too.  I found it very difficult to choose my favorites for this blog because she did so many funny faces.  We pulled out all the stops to get her to stay in one place with umbrellas, food, flowers and a rocking chair!  It's the one year olds that keep me moving the most, but it was so much fun!   I also got my favorite shot of the year, the one of her at the end in the hat, OMG-I love it!
Take a look at her One Year Old Session...
This photo was taken just in time for the Miller's Annual $5,000 grand prize baby photo contest that is put on by one of my pro labs!  What do you think, should this be entered?? =)  Let us know your thoughts!

Nerson Family -Session #3 in Max's life =)

I guess my love of babies and children is starting to really shine through in my world of professional photography, since lately I seem to be photographing lots of babies and families =)  That makes me smile for many reasons.  I love working with kids, I love watching them grow and learn, I love the playful stages that babies go through and most of all I love watching them grow up through the lenses of my Canon cameras.  Documenting the stages, the tears, the screams of joy and best of all capturing the love they share within the family...  Easy for me to say I know, they are not mine!  That's the icing my vegan cupcake!
So, with that take a look at Max and his family as we captured them first at home and then in a beautiful park setting near their house...  Don't you just love Spring?!
Thank you so much Nerson Family!  I think these portraits are some of my favorites, hope you like them and I will be in touch with you soon =) Don't forget to leave a comment - Thank you!

Best part is, they are affordable and worth so much more...

How to be a good tenant...

I'm sharing this blog article with you because my husband and I feel completely honored by this blog written about us by Sally Dunbar Fair Oaks Realtor (916) 535-0356.  It means so much to be noticed for just being who you are.  Thank you Sally! If you need a realtor give her a call!
It's called "How to be a good tenant...

The tenant in one of my listings is being booted out. My seller has no choice. They have to sell, and all the interest we have had so far, has been from families wanting to raise their kids with the big backyard. No investors have stepped forward.
So last weekend I called the tenant to see if they would uproot their family for the afternoon, so I could troll for their replacement hold an open house. "Sure, we'll go to the park." I felt kinda bad. It turned out to be a cold, somewhat windy day.
When I arrived the house sparkled, the lights were on, candles lit, toys put away... and there on the table was a plate of freshly-baked cookies and a dish of candy. Left by the tenant. The tenant who would be booted out by the results of a successful open house. Amazing.
So why'd they do it? After all, they could have left stinky diapers under the bed, imported a few ants, and conspicuously left a few plumbing bills on their desk... anything to keep from being booted out.
They did it because they are nice people. They know what goes around comes around. That who you are is projected constantly. That your inner light (or darkness) beams in every act you do.
hope the good karma from their actions comes back to them in some way. And here's how I can help.

They're both self employed. He's a pool cleaner. She's a photographer. Biz has got to be slow.
So check out Trina at www.ClaycombPhotography.com. She has some pretty amazing shots, taken with the passion of a Mom. I'm impressed.

Colin owns "Clear To The Bottom" pool service. They're in Carmichael, at (916) 333-3347.

If I had a pool, I would hire them. Because of a plate of cookies."

My Cutie Pie Boys!!

These photos were taken for "Toile Tale" http://toiletalestoo.blogspot.com/ to showcase their crochet hats on my two boys.  If I don't say so myself they look super-uber cute in these photos!  I have found a new love downtown with this train so you might be seeing it a lot in my upcoming sessions :o) Oh yah!  Check it out...

Annoucing "A.R.K. Day Wednesday"!

A.R.K. "Act of Random Kindness" Wednesdays are for all of my Blog, Facebook and Twitter Followers and anyone you would like to give an A.R.K. to =)  Pass it on, people will love you!

Have you ever been on the receiving end of an act of random kindness?  Have you ever stood in a line waiting to pay for something or wishing you had a coupon and a random stranger or friend hands you a coupon that saves you $5-$10-$20 or MORE off your purchase?!  If you have, you know the joy it brings, the surprise of a kind act.  If you haven't, you now have found a place... HERE =) where every Wednesday you and everyone you know will be able to experience the joy of receiving an A.R.K. and it is our sincere hope that will share your great finds with your friends and if it's a coupon, print an extra one for a random stranger to save too and you will experience the joy of giving.
I, from experience, know how wonderful it feels when someone takes even a moment out of their busy day to think of me.  The first time someone handed me a coupon I was in line at a grocery store and a lady in front of me handed me a coupon and it saved me $5 off my $15 purchase!  I was so thankful and shocked that someone would do that for me that I have now tried to make it a habit when I print a coupon for myself I print two or three extra and give one to someone in the store.  Every time the person has the same reaction I did...thankful, happy and shocked.  You can make the same difference in someone else's day and it doesn't take much time to do it ;o)
I will try to keep the interests of you, my loyal followers, in mind when selecting my A.R.K. ideas so if you like what see PLEASE let me know, Leave a comment and tell me what you like and what you don't like and if you have any ideas PLEASE SHARE your thoughts!  THANK YOU!! =)

Kaylee 3 Months

This adorable little "porcelain doll" is Kaylee.  You might remember seeing her a couple months back on a stack of white towels in her pink and chocolate custom painted room or with her older brother.  Like her brother Justin, Kaylee is part of our Baby Portrait Collection Series.  She is an elite member who has her photographs updated by us every three months in the comfort of her own home or where ever her mom chooses :o)  The babies I get to photograph are probably the best part of my job, although I love all types of portrait photography, because I get to see these precious little ones from birth and I watch them grow and often times the family grows bigger and I get to document it all... for me, it doesn't get much better than this, look at her how cute Kaylee and Justin are...
Thank you John and Krista!  As always it is a great to see you and catch up with you on life.  I can't wait to see these ones in print, I will be in touch with you soon.

Sacramento Children's Museum

This is the Sacramento Children's Museum's Mascot Leo!!

This message is being sent out to all families in the Sacramento area, please help us spread the news!  The Sacramento Children's Museum is an amazing place for Children and Parents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Grandparents to play and learn together.  Our friends will love it and field trips will be amazing and create lasting memories for our Children.  Have you have ever been to the one in San Jose or Stockton, California?  Then you know why I am passionate about this one coming to Sacramento!  If you can help in anyway to get the doors open on this museum you will be happy you did.  Just like PBS Kids, they take monthly payments too if you would like to spread out the donation you would like to make.

To see the Museum Site Click here: https://www.sacramentochildrensmuseum.org/

This letter here is from one of the parents, Dr. Carrie Wheeler/Engh of Carmichael, who is helping to get the doors open to the museum:

"Most of you know that I'm involved in getting the doors of the Sacramento Children's Museum (SCM) open. If you've ever been to the Stockton or San Jose ones, you know it's a great place for kids to laugh and play with hands-on exhibits that they can test and tinker with (see link above). The SCM will be off of Highway 50 and the Zinfandel exit - and plans to open this summer. One thing we need more of is FUNDING ... but don't worry - I'm not emailing to ask for money. (*although if you have a burning desire to write a check, I'm not turning anything away*) :)

I'm kicking off a Community Outreach Campaign ... and I need organizations to visit. Please email me back if I can come talk to a group you're involved in. I'm looking for Moms Groups, Rotary Clubs, Home Owners Associations, etc. Starting at only $500 - groups and individuals can become "Founding Families" of the Museum. This elite title includes a Museum Membership, Guest Passes, Invitations to exclusive pre-opening events, Recognition on the website AND a Plaque on the wall of the Museum. It's a great way to dedicate a Founding Family membership "In honor of, In memory of, or In celebration of" special people in your life (kids, grandkids, loved ones). We have a limited number of these opportunities still available.

Just last week a Moms Group held a used kids clothes and bake sale that raised over $500 - so now the name of their Moms Group will be on the SCM wall forever as Charter Member Founding Family. So exciting!

I want to get this opportunity out to Families, Clubs and Organizations to help with the SCM funding. If you can email me the a name and contact number of your organization - that would be much appreciated. Also let me know if you are interested in becoming a Founding Family yourself and I'll send you a form. :) "

Thank you for taking the time to look at this opportunity to make a difference in your community.  Please help out if you can, every dollar counts and helps in such a big way.

Welcome Jack the Bear!

I am very excited to welcome Jack the Bear 2010 to our blogging world!  Jack the Bear is a long time friend of my nephew and Jack's mom is my sister Sally, so I guess that makes me his Aunt?? ;o)  Anyway, my sister has created her first Children's Book and has started telling the world about him on his very own blog.  I have been given the awesome privilege of being his personal photographer and I am honored to be part of telling his life story through my lenses.  Follow his blog at http://www.jackthebear2010.blogspot.com/ where you can go on adventures with him and learn about all of the things a teddy bear thinks about.  Show your kids and grandkids, they will love him!

Cybulski Family

This family is a WONDERFUL family from my sons school at Dewey Fudamental.  If that didn't already make them special enough - they are also closely related to very good friends of ours =)
We managed to dodge the rain drops and had a fun session in Folsom walking throught the woods and lounging around by the river!  Their two little girls are so adorable.  The youngest one and my youngest son will be in Kindergarten next year together.  I already warned Emma that my son was going to be in love with her, cause he loves girls!  Take a look at how great they look with their 2 family dogs...

This one is my FAVORITE one of the family...
Thank you so much for having me take your family portraits!  I will be in touch with you soon, so you can see the rest of the images from your session =)
