Justin turns 9 months!

Another 3 months have already passed and it is time to update and show off another cute stage of Justin's life. Krista and I took Justin to a park by their home and Justin was in a great mood-smiles all over the place! Daddy and his little boy love Baseball so we started off with these adorable shots of Justin trying to get the ball out of the glove.
Justin was thrilled to see the toys and children there and couldn't wait to play. This was his First Time on the Swings, another "first" that I was privileged to catch for the family :o) I love my job!
We sat him on a little tricycle too and he was ready to go, trying to get his feet up on the peddles and steering the handle bar. Yet another first for this little cutie pie! Krista and I nervously took these shots -very quickly, while he almost slide off the side - but I always tell my moms to stay close just in case...
This little shirt says "I love Oma" or my Grandma, complete with his first baby toys. It doesn't get more real than this guys. Look how little he looks next to these stuffed animals! It won't be long till you wonder what happened to these days. Enjoy it while you can and don't blink for too long...
This brings us to the end of the sneak peek and again 'Thank You' John and Krista for having me document your baby's stages and all the other important events in your lives. I love watching him grow and enjoy your family very much. We will be in touch soon!

Tucker Baby and Brothers

It was time to update Rylan's baby portraits since she hit her third month mark, so my 8 year old son and I went to the Tucker's home together. My son is usually good at making kids laugh, just like his dad, so he came along to help mommy. We started off with the three kids in the wagon. Big brother is good at holding his little sister! They are all too cute together.

Mom decided to jump in for a few photos and Tanner was laughing as his mom tickled him. He has the most adorable little face, especially when he is laughing!

Wyatt is an active little boy and the photos of him are a lot more creative and show off the boy in him. Here he is playing with the moss on the rock and the next one he is climbing a tree and laughing at my son making faces beside me!

It is finally Rylan's turn in the spot light. She is a little more patient since she still has no idea what the camera is for at this age. She is smiling at her mommy and showing off her dimples as she coos and makes her little baby noises : o) aw- how I miss those days...

Showing off a couple different outfits and trying to figure out what colors look best on little Rylan- I think we decided on the beautiful pink colors at the end of the session in her "kiss me" t-shirt looked the best on her.

While mom changed the baby into her final outfit, I told Tanner to tackle his brother and it started a little brawl. Tanner got Wyatt pretty good as I took this shot of them playing around!

Rylan wasn't too sure what I was doing as I got this little look from her, but it didn't take long before she started smiling her best smiles and showing off just how adorable she can be!

This one is my personal favorite and the last one I will leave you with for this sneak peek... Thank you so much Tucker's for having us document these moments of Rylan's life along with her brothers too. I feel privileged to be able to watch the babies and children grow in "my families" lives. Your session photos will be ready to view very soon and we are looking forward to seeing you again in December!

Wheeler/Engh Family Portraits

My husband and I love spending every moment possible together, so when Carrie (a loyal client and my Chiropractic savior-Wheeler Chiropractic in Carmichael!) called to have us come to her parents house in Lodi to update their family portraits, I jumped on the opportunity to have Colin go with me. We work very well together. He can make almost any baby or child smile and we love each others company, it works perfectly. Maybe someday he'll learn to shoot for me! :o)

We arrived in Lodi expecting a "cow town" since neither of us have been there before but to our surprise the area Carrie's parents live is absolutely gorgeous! They live on a golf course and the area had lots of grape vines growing around it. We set the family up in their beautiful backyard which framed them perfectly. We got several nice shots of them, switching the baby between everyone's hands.

They also wanted to add the family dogs since they too are a part of the family. The little dog in the middle (Louie) belongs to Mom and Dad and the black one (Harley) at the bottom of the photo belongs to Carries brother Bobby on the right. I love putting animals into the session because it adds a fun element to the photo and makes it interesting to look at. The other two adorable "animals" are Carries super cute boys Eric and Ian that were blessed with getting Carries vibrate blue eyes!

This is where my talented husband comes in and makes the kids crack up with a little help from their Grandma too.

The sun was setting, making this photo awesome with the light coming through the trees from behind. Everyone decided it would be nice to have a current photo with their children!

One last photo to leave you with of Grandma and baby Ian. Don't they make the perfect pair?! There is nothing greater than the love of a grandmother. It works well for all of us ; ) Meanwhile our kids are home with their Nana!

This is the end of the sneak peek, I hope you enjoyed the photos and we will be in touch with you soon to schedule your viewing. Thank you so much Carrie for having us come to photograph your family. A huge thank you also to your parents and to your brother for the awesome time we were able to have, after your session, at Lodi's Peitro's Italian restaurant they set us up with. The owner was so nice, the food was the best, and the wine was awesome as well. We will be driving to Lodi just to go there again! If anyone is looking for a good local wine get the 2005 Lodi Old Vine Zin from the Oak Ridge Winery in Lodi. Thanks again so much for everything and I am looking forward to seeing you for your next session in November!

The Wall Family

Remember Claire who won our 2008 Annual Baby & Child Photo Contest this year-This is her with Mom and Dad. Still cute as ever and now we can see why she is so stinkin' cute, she comes from two parents with good genes! As part of winning First Place they chose to receive a free family portrait package as their gift from us. So we met in one of my favorite photo spots and got to work. By the way, blue is my new favorite color for portraits!

It wasn't long before we needed a little fun time for Claire. So her and Dad ran after each other and then played a game of toss... Yes- he caught her! This is one of my favorite ways to photograph kids at this age, it is a lot of fun for the kids and makes an awesome memory portrait.

And, now over to my favorite wall with the Wall's.. ha ha : ) we had fun using that expression because I am always looking for the perfect wall or background when I am shooting on location!

Thanks to Chelsea, my High School Senior "job shadow" this year, for her senior project! She helped us find the perfect rock to sit on by the water. I am really excited about that because I have been searching for awhile for THE rock and this was it! Although Claire was done at this point we still tried anyway and ended up with a more relaxed look here.

One more stop before we were done. We found an odd patch of grass in the middle of nowhere and thought we would try it out. They relaxed together on the grass, played games, gave "family kisses" and told secrets to each other as Chelsea and I sat near them to capture the moments.

Thank you Wall Family! We had fun with the three of you and I am looking forward to showing you the rest of the photos from your family session soon. Thanks again Chelsea for helping out!
