McGill Family

I just have to start this blog off by saying that I feel very blessed to have such an awesome "clientele". (For those of you who know me, I don't like the word
customer because my "clients" are much more to me than that and I treat them as an extension of my friends), Anyway! I have recently added an awesome group of new families to my "studio family". (I also love quotations!) The McGill's are one of them and their friends! Emily and I knew over the phone after talking for only two minutes that we would hit it off and that is exactly what we did. The moment I walked into their home to photograph their son Christopher's baptism ceremony, I felt like a guest. Not to mention Emily and her friends Jennie and Shannon were giant tall LIKE ME!! It is amazing to find one woman who is 5' 10" or taller but at Emily's house there were FOUR of us! I'm already in love with them. Here are Emily's two boys and their "Godsisters", aren't they adorable?! They set up the baptism ceremony outside in their beautiful backyard.
These are my fellow giants! Hope they don't mind the nickname : )
They are a stunning trio.

Christopher is so adorable and he knew exactly when to smile for the camera.
This is the McGill family with the Godparents and Godsisters.
Everyone is seated on the patio and the ceremony has begun, Christopher is still smiling!
A very important call needed to be made I guess...

They invited a few close friends and family members. Readings were prepared for a select few to present during the ceremony. There were several readings, all done very nicely. I really liked this picture here of Jennie reading the story "Me and My Little Brother" by Mercer Mayer. It was really cute and the story fit perfectly into the ceremony.
When you have other children it is always important to make them feel like they are a part of the event. The McGill's did a perfect job doing just that. First older brother, Ryan is held by Dad and then after the baptism he is helping with the blowing out of the candle.

This photo is just too cute of Ryan hugging his baby brother. These are the moments we all treasure and try to remember as they are fighting and screaming at each other. (hahaha)
The Godparents Chris and Shannon live out of town so I was trying my hardest to get a good family photo for them. This however cannot be a forced thing upon tired children but we managed to get a couple cute ones! My favorite is the one of them below, alone and lookin' good!

Here is the cake in honor of Christopher's big day.
A Canon Moment as Ryan learns more about the turkey feather in his hand.
Last but not least this is another great family I met at the McGill's. We had fun getting their boys to laugh for the camera using the all too famous -reverse psychology and it worked!
I know this blog has more previews than normal but I had a really hard time
norrowing down what I wanted to show off! We got a lot of great shots and I can't wait to show them all to the family.

Thank you McGill Family and to everyone who was at the ceremony for making me feel so at home and for having me document such an important part of your lives. I am looking forward to our next session together!
