Allen Family Portraits

Meet the Allen Family! This very cute family of four, plus one doggie, met us at the clubhouse in their housing development. What a beautiful place it turned out to be! I am so glad that we had a chance to get together there and check it out before their session. We had so many background choices, it was a photographers dream! I hope you enjoy this sneak peek into their session...

These next few photos of their two boys are just too cute. It is amazing what children will do for a little bit of candy! I fully believe in rewarding great smiles ; )

The area was surrounded with the most interesting decor. They had these really cool looking stars on one wall, then some interesting pots hanging on another area near the outdoor fireplace. We had a lot of fun switching up the poses to get these great portraits!

This is the part of the session where I always tell the parents to forget that they have kids for the moment and remember how in LOVE they are so I can get an "alone" shot of the couple! They always laugh as I tease them and this shot is the result of my teasing- genuine, unstressed, "we did not just have to bribe the kids to get them to sit still" and we are in LOVE portrait! HAHAHA : ) We promised the kids that we would do some fun photos, which is so important because if you ever want them to do a photo session again, they need to have good memories of it or it may be a difficult task the next time. So the boys sat on mom and dad and then we told them to tackle their dad... Now that is fun stuff and great memories!

Thank you Allen family for having us do your family portraits! We had so much fun with your family and your cute doggie too. We will be in touch with you soon -so you can see the rest of the photos from your session.

Saying Good-Bye to Dick Kruse

Our longtime close friend passed away recently in San Diego, CA. This was a dear friend I knew from birth. He was a very sweet man. Through out his entire life he helped others and cared deeply for all of those around him. My mom was very close to Dick and his wife Lindy so we decided together that we needed to fly there to support our "family". The follow photos are from our trip and of the memorial service and reception for the Kruse family. We love you all so much and our hearts and prayers are with you all...
This is Lindy Kruse and their son Ricky. (Below is Lindy with her two daughters) Every year our family drives to San Diego for our vacation time. Ricky and his beautiful wife Jen lovingly open up their home to my husband and I and our two boys. It is our favorite place to be and we are so grateful to have such wonderful friends.

During our trip to San Diego this time my youngest son went with us and we stayed with another family of wonderful friends that we know in San Diego, Sam, Betsy and Paloma. Our family has a very long history with them as well. This photo is of Betsy and her mom Joan, also one of my moms dearest friends.

This is Ricky's beautiful wife Jen! ; ) LOL

After the Memorial Services the family and friends had prepared a wonderful spread of food and desserts for all of the guests to enjoy together.

Although our trip was not exactly for a happy occasion we were able to spend a couple days catching up with everyone and we are so glad that we were able to go and give our support. If any friends or family members would like to view all of the photos that I took, e-mail me at claycombphotography@surewest.net and I will give you the password and directions to view them on my web-site and I will also send you a CD if you would like one. We love you all and we will keep you in our prayers.

Portis Twins - 3 Months Old

Announcing 3 month old twins, Harmony and Echun! This is their first official photo session with us although we photographed them in mommy's tummy and at our Annual Baby & Child Photo Contest when they were only 1 month old. This session was all about them this time and showing off how adorable they are! All of us mom's out there who don't have multiples can only imagine how much work -and joy : ) they bring to your home and then you add in cutie pie Lyric who is their 1 year old little girl, phew... it makes me tired just thinking about it! They are so-so cute and loveable, it makes it all worth it in the end. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Lyric was feeling a little bit left out of the photographs so we put her up in the chair with her brother and sister, one in each arm, and to my surprise they all looked at me at the same moment, how funny is that?!

As babies often do, they started to get a little sleepy. This gives us the perfect opportunity to get photos of them relaxed and just wait to see what happens. As they wiggled around, want their binkies or sometimes fall asleep, we can capture the real part of who they are. Then years from now you will look back at the photos and remember these precious moments and how fast they fly by. Which always leads me into reminding parents and families not to wait or put off your portraits, because children grow fast and you never know what tomorrow will bring. All you have are your memories and the photos you take to remember the past...

This one is my personal favorite of Harmony sleeping in her mother's arms. This is what tells a story that lasts forever. Thank you for having us come over to get your new babies in print! They are absolutely adorable. Congratulations to you both, enjoy them while they are little, get some rest and keep on taking lots of pictures of them, as I know you do all the time : ) I can't even count how many pictures I have of my boys! We will be in touch with soon.

Stabuck's Finest Barista's!

What a great looking team! Thank you to Nick and Jan for having us come in to photograph some of the store's team members, we had a lot fun that afternoon. Here is a sneak peek at your session...
Is this what they are all doing when the customers drive off with their custom designed coffee?! I know they all work hard at getting those apron's dirty but this would definitely create a mess that no one would want to clean up!

We ended the session with a few personal shots so that the Barista's and Management Team could show off a little bit more of who they are after work. It is no wonder how they keep things moving smoothly for all of us Coffee Freaks - and Tea drinkers too : ), with the close friendships they have built with one another, they are happy team members and create a fun environment for all of us to come in and enjoy our drinks.

This part of the session brought back some great memories for me! I was a Barista way way back when - almost 14 years ago! So taking these shots of them in action was a lot of fun. Jan made my Custom Designed White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha and she even let me write in the cup information, believe it or not I actually remembered how to do it! Photography and Coffee are my two favorite things in life - after my family : )

All of you were so much fun! Thanks again for coming to the session and for following my lead so we could get these awesome photos for you to enjoy!! The rest will be available to you soon. Feel free to e-mail me your info so that I can contact you when the photos are ready.

Justin's turns 6 months!

Justin turned six months old on the day of his portrait session and he sat up for the FIRST time!! I was there to capture it for the family as you will see. That to me is big... Stages of our children's lives, especially of our babies pass by so fast. When you are able to catch these precious moments then your memories last forever and carry on through out your family history. This is one of the biggest reasons why I love what I do. Thank you John & Krista and G-ma Shelli : ) for sharing these moments with me so that I can enjoy watching him grow up along with you.

We got some studio looks at their house and then headed to the park for some different poses to choose from. He is such a doll!!

Thank you again for being such awesome clients, who have now become much more than that to me, you have become my friends. LOL, talk to you very soon!
