Shelby and Isaiah

This is 8 year old Shelby and 4 year old Isaiah. Their family won a free photo session from a fund raiser raffle held at Purely Pasta, my family's favorite pasta place! http://www.purelypasta.com/ If you haven't been there you really need to go!

We met at the park and these two were dressed up so cute. Shelby's dress was so pretty on her and Isaiah's matching tie was perfect. I love this park because of the tall grass that blows in the wind. As you can tell from the images of the two of them - they were very cute together!

Isaiah was quit the little GQ boy. He had all kinds of ways to pose himself and his smile from ear to ear was just too cute!

This image is one of my personal favorites. As I always say, I love to catch children in their own element or doing their own thing. You can try to make children pose all day long and get a couple of good portraits but images like these really tell the story of who your children really are. She looks so beautiful in the grass with the lavender all around her.

Our last few images before we let them do their silly faces. Kids love to make silly faces at the camera and I promised to print one for them if I could just get some really nice smiles. It worked!

And here is the final silly face photo for the kids to see!! You guys look really goofy! I really enjoyed working with your family and I am looking forward to sharing the rest of the images with you when we meet for your viewing. Thank you!

Nichols Family Portraits

This is the Nichols family. Desire' and I headed down to the Capitol to meet them for some casual outdoor portraits. Mom and Dad have three boys and the two older brothers are both engaged to be married. The middle son actually got married the day after their session with us! They chose the Capitol because of the beautiful backgrounds, blooming trees and flowers. It turned out to be a very good choice! It was the perfect day with blue skies and lots of green trees. The first few portraits actually turned out to be my personal favorites.

As we walked around the Capitol to find different backgrounds we came across this beautiful tree with the perfect white flowers blooming all over and of course I couldn't resist getting some portraits of everyone under the tree. It was very "Spring-y"!

Here the brides-to-be are giving their soon-to-be Father in-law a kiss on the cheek. Isn't it sweet?!
We pretty much walked around the entire Capitol to make sure we were able to capture a few different background looks and pose choices for the family. I really like these next few portraits. One thing that makes the Capitol so unique is the different elements of steps, and stone looking structures, along with trees and blooming flowers all around the building. You really can get a lot of variety at this location.

Here we had to dodge a few bus loads of kids on field trips as they walked by on the path behind the family. We managed to get everyone laughing and ended the session just in time for a huge group of probably near 100 or so kids to start walking on the pathway behind them.

Overall it was a really fun session. We always love to meet people that are fun and nice to be with. The Nichols were just that. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of documenting your family history. We hope that the Wedding went beautifully for all of you and Congratulations to John and Crystal on your marriage!
