The Bodley Family Portraits

It has been a crazy month with lots of last minute family portraits but we are finally getting caught up. I always love the opportunity to photograph friends. Desire' and I and the rest of my family set out for my favorite park to meet our good friends Tammy and Michael to update their family portraits.

We had so much fun even though it was freezing cold. My 8 year old son was an important part of their session because of his unique ability to make my friends children laugh for portraits and as you will see their dad Michael couldn't keep in his laughter either!

We got a lot of different styles for Tammy and Michael to choose from by the creek, on the bridge and surrounded by the beautiful trees. And Tammy.... One of these photographs should look perfect in your EMPTY HANGING FRAME in your front room! LOL ; )

Last but not least we ended the session with some awesome shots of Tammy and Michael alone, as we used up every ounce of daylight left in the sky. I always love working with them because they will try anything and they love unique styles that portray one of my favorite styles of portraits that I call "edgy-model". I will leave you with just a few of my favorite shots.

Thank you for choosing us to do your portraits-we are going to have fun picking out all of your favorites!

Southard Family Portraits

We are back again at my favorite family portrait spot! I love the colors in this park and the old crossing bridge. When the sun is setting everything glows. This family was a lot of fun to work with! All of the kids are so cute and followed my direction.

The family was hoping to get their family dog Nala in a few of the portraits and we actually got her to stay for a few shots! When you actually get 4 children, their parents and a dog looking at you, all at the same time (not in this shot, but I did capture the dog looking too!) then that is a successful session. The whole family looks fantastic!

You guys were great! I hope you love your portraits and see why I believe that the outdoors makes the best back ground for portraits.

Perez Baby On the Way!

Saturday I went to a friends baby shower. I have a camera in my hand everywhere I go so of course this was more fun than anything. I was more than thrilled to get some maternity/baby shower portraits for my friends. They already have one little boy who is 2 years old and another little boy is due any day now.

We started with a few shots inside and tried to get Elijah in at least a few of the photographs! As it is with most two year old kids, he would much rather play than sit for portraits. It was fun watching everyone jump around acting crazy, as they tried to get him to sit still! Look at that smile though-like father - like son!

Outdoor photo's are my favorite so we went outside to find a spot that didn't have a car in the background. With a little creative posing we made it work and I think these turned out perfect!

Everyone can't wait to see the new baby. For those of us who have kids, we always love to see the newborns, hold them, cuddle them and the best part... give them back! Congrats to you both and although I love my boys, as my husband would say, I am glad it's you and not me that will be getting up at night! ; ) LOL

Ashley's Senior Portraits

Tuesday afternoon I met Ashley and her mom at the State Capitol to get some photographs for her high school graduation portraits. I always like to get a feel for how someone may react in front of the camera so I started off with my usual "interview" with Ashley and right away I knew she would be perfect for some model/glamour style portraits! She is pretty comfortable with herself and I was able to pose her in what I like to call my "jean ad" poses. Her mom was not opposed to it so we had some fun in different trees and on the Capitol floor.

Ashley LOVES to shop so I told her it would make a really cute picture if she wanted to bring some of her favorite shopping bags along with her to the photo session to create a unique look.

One of the reasons I like to shoot at the Capitol is because you can get so many different looks and styles all in one place if you want to and it is beautiful there all year round. I will leave you with these last couple of shots and also a special Thank You to Purely Pasta for giving me the opportunity to meet Ashley through the advertising they have allowed me to place on the walls of their awesome pasta restaurant! http://www.purelypasta.com/ ; )

Zaragoza Family Portraits

Meet the Zaragoza Family! They have two beautiful kids and it's not hard to figure out where they got their looks from. The whole family looks great! I love the color choices Lisanne made for their outfits. They brought a few clothing changes for the kids and we started off with some pictures on the bridge. Their daughter is a little camera shy so we got creative and worked with her cute personality.

Desire' and I really enjoyed the family. They were willing to work with us and go with the flow. Sometimes it is better not to stress out the kids with fake smiles. When you let your children be who they are, that is when you create memories of your life. Anyone can smile for pictures but the images we captured of them tell a story about who they are today as a family.

We ended the session with some awesome images of the couple by themselves. Desire' took Domenica over to the playground while Rocco stayed close by in a basket. We made jokes about how they didn't have any kids at this moment to liven up the mood and get David and Lisanne to laugh. Can't you feel the love when you see them together!

Thanks David and Lisanne for having me take your family portraits - You guys were awesome and we had a lot of fun working with you! Looking forward to seeing you agian at your portrait viewing.
